I work in an office, and I'm ashamed to say that my tootsies get cold pretty frequently - to mitigate that problem, I could have bought any one of a thousand little heaters that are all nice and contoured, with little pictures of fans on them, but when I came across this bad boy, I knew instantly that this is what I needed - This all-metal box is the perfect thing to keep my delicate little toes at a perfect temperature while allowing me to salvage the maximum amount of dignity.

When I turned it on my 12 x 14 home office was a chilly 64 degrees F, 30 minutes it was a toasty 69 degrees F. I did not find the noise very load (similar to a hard drive) and overall am VERY satisfied. The themastat seems to work OK, but I can see I'll have to tweak it. I would recomend this little beauty to anybody.

Sturdy looking, but a little loud. Puts out sufficient heat but there seems to be a rattle - something loose inside? Will order another and compare just to be certain.

This heater is really fantastic! It mounts on a wall socket in just second, and is removable just as fast. We heat a 16 X 12 three season room with just one of these heaters! They are a little noisy on high, but once the desired temperature is reached you can turn it down to a lower setting, and maintain the rooms temperature with less noise!! I would definetly recommend this heater!!

Designed AND constructed in Canada, where they understand the need for staying warm! The design is brilliant but flawed by the assumption that all proper grounded bathroom 2-plug outlets will fit within their wall-mount box; the standard boxes our electricians installed a few months ago are too big, making it impossible to plug the unit in if you follow their instructions. However, good bathroom heaters are hard to find and it's easy to work around this (and other criticisms of this item): 1. Using the holes indicated on the wall-mount box, screw it into your bathroom wall anywhere within about 3-5 inches above your bathroom outlet (test in advance to be sure the short cord will still reach the outlet). We use 1.5 inch wood screws and happen to know that the wiring doesn't go above our outlet but you might want to adjust location depending on where your wires are in the wall. 2. I've had this Holmes heater for over 5 years. I rely on it during winter months for heating my master bedroom, which measures about 13' x 15'.
As with a lot of heaters, this unit may give off an offensive smell initially - If you run it for a few hours in a well ventilated area, the smell should gradually diminish and eventually cease.
The heater has 2 heat settings. Amazingly, it's able to heat up my entire bedroom at the high setting. I don't have the manual anymore, but if my memory serves me, the lower setting is 750 W and the higher setting is 1500 W. The lower setting is ideal for for providing you with localized warmth where you need it most. Although the fan isn't very strong, it does an adequate job of dispersing the heat. In freezing temperatures, it takes the unit anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour to warm up an average-sized room.

I bought this heater from a local hardware store and have been very happy with it even as I unpacked it and found that it was packed with recyclable pressed paper inserts instead of nasty ol' Styrofoam. The heater works wonderfully and even on the lowest setting in my old, drafty house keeps me quite toasty as I work at my desk. I like that it is very small and easily portable and will pack up and store quite nicely in the warmer months. It puts out as much heat as my big ol' "Milk barn" heater and seems to be more stable... tho the milk barn heater will shut off if it tips and this Holmes model will not... which is the only thing I don't particularly like about the unit... but it sits low and quite stable so hopefully that will never be a problem.
