It is not the quietest but it will heat a small room faster and more consistently than any other small heater and as well as many that are much larger. If you want the most heat in the smallest package this is your best bet. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is that the first one I purchased only lasted 4 years. But at this price it still is a bargain. It had obviously been used before with marks all over the casing and was rattling when I first turned it on. Within an hour the heater the rattling increased along with the noise.
