Which it kind of does but that design is a compromise which doesn't offer a great benefit.The design gives you the impression that the front fascia is mostly a heat output area but that's a lie. What they've done is taken a typical 1500W wide-type heating element and just stretched it vertically, so the actual area of output is through a 1 inch vertical gap between the center three fins. The lower quarter of the design is for the fan intake too so don't consider that part of the heating element. What this means is the heat delivery is a very narrow area of effect and you have to be standing within about three or four feet to feel it on your skin. In fact the output even on high is not very hot at all. My furnace went out one morning and this kept my living/kitchen room at 58-60F. I use it in a fairly large Sun Room, and it generates all the heat needed to keep the room comfortably warm even during fairly cold weather. The thermostat cycles the unit effectively...and with little input from me. Essentially, this heater does just what it was advertised to do. Great product! |
